Countdown to Fondy Food Truck Festival - Day 1

May 28, 2022

Are you ready for a day filled with Family Food and Fun?

The Fondy Food Truck Festival sponsored by the Friends of Lakeside Park, is happening tomorrow! Sunday, May 29, from 11am – 5pm on Oven Island in Lakeside Park!

In case you missed the countdown posts, here is a recap of what you can expect:

Visit one of our Welcome Tents located at the North and South entrance. Say “Hi” to one of our volunteers who will be handing out maps to help you find your favorite food trucks, organization or activity.

As with any event at Lakeside Park, parking tends to be a challenge. There will be no parking on Oven Island. 6 handicap spaces will be available on Promen Drive outside the North Entrance. Parking lots on Harborview Drive and parking on Main Street is also available with access to the festival from the South entrance.

Restrooms are located south of Oven Island near the baseball diamonds and at the newly remodeled Pavilion.

Green and yellow Recycle Bins will be located throughout Oven Island. These are for cans and bottles ONLY! Please do your part in helping to keep our park free of litter.

There will be a total of 25 food vendors to satisfy your every craving! Bring your appetite! More food vendors means less wait time! Food Trucks will be spread out on both sides of the island to avoid congestion.  You can see the Festival vendor menus by clicking HERE

Picnic tables will be available under all shelters for you to sit down and enjoy your food! However, picnic tables are limited so feel free to bring a blanket or chairs and find a spot under one of the many trees on the island.

Live music from the duo Until Dawn will take place from Noon-4pm.

The Fondy Softball Association will be serving beer, seltzers and soda.

Ice Cold Water will be available for $1 at both Welcome Tents and at the Friends Fundraising Tent located by the North Entrance. Volunteers will be walking the food truck areas selling water as well.

Visit the middle section of Oven Island to see our local Fire, Police and Sheriff’s Departments. A number of local Non-profits will be on-site sharing educational material about their organizations and graciously accepting donations.

At the History Shelter (northeast), learn more about the history of beautiful Lakeside Park. Activities for kids will be available here as well: Betty the Clown will be painting faces, the HeadStart Program will have their popular fishing game along with coloring and Sue will be giving demos on how to paint shells.

Be sure to check out the Friends of Lakeside Park Fundraising Tent, located on the northeast channel side of Oven Island. Learn more about how to become a member of our wonderful group!

Artwork by Nancy Lichtenwald will be for sale in various forms along with our signature Lighthouse Pendants handmade by local artist Trista HolzNEW this year will be tote bags and mugs with artwork by our own talented artist Rich Norenberg, who serves as Secretary on the Board of the Friends of Lakeside Park.
